Your privacy
Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it and the rights you have, including your rights as a California resident.
01Who we are
AS Los Angeles ("ASLA") is a soccer club and a project of Evolution Sports Group, a Delaware company based in California ("Evolution Sports Group," "we," "us" or "our"). Evolution Sports Group operates this website and is responsible for the personal information collected through it. This policy explains what personal information we collect through aslosangelesfc.com (the "site"), how we use it, who we share it with and the choices and rights you have. It is written to meet the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA) and to explain the rights California residents have under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the "CCPA"), where that law applies.
02Information we collect
Information you give us
When you use the supporter form on our site, you give us your first and last name, email address, ZIP code, your area of interest (for example tryouts, partnerships or supporter updates) and the message you write. You also confirm that you agree to receive club updates. If you email us directly, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.
Information collected automatically
Like every website, our hosting provider records basic technical information when your browser requests a page. This includes your IP address, browser type, device type, the page you requested, the referring page and the date and time of the visit. These server logs are used to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix problems.
The site stores one small setting in your browser’s session storage so the intro animation only plays once per visit. Details are in our Cookie Policy.
We do not use analytics tools, advertising pixels or tracking cookies, and we do not build profiles of your activity across other websites.
Information from third parties
The photos in our social section come from our own Instagram account and are loaded through our servers. Viewing them does not send your information to Instagram. If you click through to Instagram, X, LinkedIn or another website, that site’s own privacy policy applies.
Our typeface loads from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google’s servers to download it. Google receives your IP address as part of that request.
03How we use your information
- To read and answer your inquiry and route it to the right person on our staff.
- To send you the club updates you asked for, such as tryout dates, events, partnership news and announcements.
- To understand where our supporters are located by ZIP code so we can plan events and community programs.
- To operate, maintain and protect the site, including preventing spam and abuse.
- To comply with the law and respond to lawful requests.
05Categories of personal information
The CCPA asks businesses to describe their practices using set categories. Here is how our practices fit them for the past 12 months.
| Category | What we collect | Source | Purpose | Disclosed to |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | Name, email address, IP address | You; your browser | Responding, updates, security | Service providers |
| Customer records (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.80) | Name, email address | You | Responding, updates | Service providers |
| General location | ZIP code | You | Event and community planning | Service providers |
| Internet activity | Server log data such as pages requested and browser type | Your browser | Site delivery and security | Hosting provider |
| Other information you choose to share | Area of interest and message content | You | Responding to your inquiry | Service providers |
We do not ask for sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers, financial account details, health information or precise geolocation. Please do not include it in your message.
06How long we keep it
We keep form submissions and supporter list entries for as long as you want to hear from us. When you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information, we remove it from our supporter list and inbox records. We review our supporter list at least once a year and delete entries we no longer need. Server logs kept by our hosting provider are deleted on its standard schedule, usually within a few weeks. We may keep information longer when the law requires it.
07Your choices
- Unsubscribe. Reply to any club email and ask to be removed, or email harry@evolutionsportsgroup.com. We will stop sending updates promptly.
- Review or correct your information. Email us and we will tell you what we have and update anything that is wrong.
- Browser storage. You can clear session storage and cookies through your browser settings at any time. The site works normally without them.
08Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA to the extent it applies to Evolution Sports Group. We extend the same rights to all visitors as a matter of practice.
- Right to know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it and who we disclosed it to.
- Right to access a copy of the specific pieces of personal information we hold about you.
- Right to delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of today. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and provide an opt-out link first.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal information.
- Right to non-discrimination. We will never treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
How to make a request
Email harry@evolutionsportsgroup.com with the subject line "California Privacy Request" and tell us which right you want to use. To protect you, we will confirm your identity by matching the name and email address you give us to our records, and we may ask you to reply from that email address. You may use an authorized agent; we will ask for your signed permission and may confirm your identity directly with you. We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days. If we need more time, we will tell you why and may take up to 45 more days as the law allows.
Shine the Light
California Civil Code Section 1798.83 lets California residents ask whether a business shared their personal information with third parties for those third parties’ own direct marketing. Evolution Sports Group does not share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
09Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
CalOPPA requires us to explain how we respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals. Because we do not track visitors across other websites or use advertising or analytics trackers, the site works the same way whether or not Do Not Track is turned on. We also treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for that browser.
No third party is allowed to collect personal information about your online activity over time and across different websites when you use our site.
10Children and teens
Our site is meant for a general audience, including families of young players. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in keeping with the federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. If a player under 18 is interested in our academy or tryouts, we ask that a parent or guardian fill out the form. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Under California Business and Professions Code Section 22581, California residents under 18 may ask us to remove content or information they submitted to the site. Our site does not publish visitor content, and any minor may email harry@evolutionsportsgroup.com to have their submission deleted. We do not sell or share the personal information of anyone we know to be under 16.
11Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your information. The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections, form submissions are filtered for spam and access to our supporter records is limited to staff who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by California law.
12Links to other websites
Our site links to other websites, including Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Evolution Sports Group and our partners. We are not responsible for how those sites handle your information. Please read their privacy policies before sharing anything with them.
13Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our club and site grow. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we use personal information you already gave us, we will tell you by email or with a notice on the site before the change takes effect.
